In 1995, he started Greater Insurance Service (GIS) and began his independent agency specializing in commercial insurance, emphasizing in building contractors and forest products. In 2003, GIS formed a partnership with Grand Rapids Insurance Agency and then, in 2006, GISacquired Grand Rapids Insurance Agency, combining the staff and services of both agencies. Our latest announcement is the acquisition of Greater Insurance Service of Baudette in early 2024. We now have a staff of 12 fully-licensed, highly educated agents with offices in both Grand Rapids and Baudette.

Greater Insurance Service is an independent insurance agency with access to over 50 companies throughout the country, allowing our agents to provide you with numerous coverage options. To even better service our clients, GIS has joined the Keystone Insurance Group. Keystone was formed in 1983 by four independent agencies whose goal was to pool best practices, resources and services for their clients. Today, Keystone has grown to over 300 independent agencies in several states.
